How the Market Analyzer Works
The Market Analyzer is a NinjaTrader Desktop window that lists instruments in rows and shows a value for each one in every column. A custom column is a piece of NinjaScript that runs your conditions on each instrument in the list, so one window can watch many markets at once and show you which one is setting up. Because every column runs for every row, efficient code matters as the list grows.
What to Send With Your Request
- The condition or signal each column should check, written step by step.
- The bar type and time frame each column calculates on.
- What each cell should show: a value, custom text, or a bar count since the signal last occurred.
- The cell colors you want for each result.
- Whether a column should trigger an alert, and which kind.
- Roughly which instruments you plan to scan.
Can a column be built around an indicator I already use?
Often, yes. Tell us which indicator it is and which of its signals you want in the table, and we will tell you what is possible. If you need the same signals on a chart, we also build custom indicators.
Should I ask for a column or a chart indicator?
A Market Analyzer column shows one result per instrument, so it is best for watching many markets at once. A chart indicator shows the full history of a signal on a single chart. Many traders use both: the column to spot which market is active, and the chart to plan and take the trade.
Installing Your Finished Tool
Custom NinjaScript delivered as an add-on file is installed the same way as any other NinjaScript add-on: in NinjaTrader's Control Center, go to Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On, select the file and follow the prompts.
