NinjaTrader should not be used with OneDrive as you may see file access violations or other issues when OneDrive tries to sync files to the cloud. We do not recommend deleting bar cache unless directed by a support technician for troubleshooting reasons.
Below are several ways to troubleshoot/remove OneDrive issues. Note that these steps may slightly change as OneDrive updates.
- The first suggestion is to disable OneDrive completely, this isn’t necessary, but is one option. You can find the steps to remove OneDrive on Microsoft’s website.
- The second suggestion is to prevent OneDrive from backing up the My Documents folder. Steps to do this can be found below.
- Right click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar.
- Select Settings and choose the Backup Tab.
- Click on Manage backup and unselect My Documents.
- Click ok/start backup until you are out of the Settings window.
- The third suggestion is to stop OneDrive from backing up files while using NinjaTrader. Steps to do this can be found below.
- Right click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar.
- Select Pause Syncing and choose from the options of how long you want to pause OneDrive.
- Once done with NinjaTrader you can un-pause OneDrive Syncing.
- The fourth suggestion is to temporarily end OneDrive’s sync session. Steps to do this can be found below.
- Right click the OneDrive icon on the taskbar.
- Select Close OneDrive.
- OneDrive will restart automatically during your next session. To be safe, you can check to make sure OneDrive begins resyncing after rebooting your computer.
