How to Connect PJ Capital to NinjaTrader 8 (Rithmic)

How to Connect PJ Capital to NinjaTrader 8 (Rithmic)

PJ Capital (pjcapitalx.com) sells futures evaluations and direct-funded “live-sim” accounts. After you buy, the firm sends your account credentials to you — a username and password issued by PJ Capital rather than something you generate yourself, and the firm publishes no self-service page where they appear. Those credentials are what you type into a Rithmic connection inside NinjaTrader Desktop; the firm’s own NinjaTrader page says as much in its FAQ, that you make your Rithmic connection in Ninja with your credentials. So the work sits in NinjaTrader’s Connections dialog rather than anywhere on PJ Capital’s site. What you are permitted to do on your account is governed by PJ Capital’s own terms and rules, so confirm anything you are unsure about with the firm before you trade.

One thing that surprises people: you do not choose a platform when you buy. PJ Capital states that you can trade a funded account in either Quantower or Ninja Trader without specifying which, so there is no feed or platform option at checkout and nothing to switch on afterwards. The account is the account; NinjaTrader is simply one of the two front ends the firm names.

The part that genuinely trips people up is the System entry in the Rithmic login window. PJ Capital’s written pages name no gateway or system, but the firm’s own tutorial video on its NinjaTrader page selects Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago) and shows an activation email with the gateway set to Chicago Area. Whatever detail belongs there has to come from the credential email the firm sends you, and if that email is silent, from PJ Capital support. Guessing just produces failed logins.

Two scoping notes before the steps. This guide covers PJ Capital’s futures accounts only — the firm also sells a separate Forex programme on its own three-phase ruleset, and that ruleset names no platform and no data feed, so nothing here should be read as applying to it. And PJ Capital’s published rules prohibit bots, copy trading and VPN use outright, which takes NinjaTrader’s automated strategies off the table on these accounts. Read that rule on the firm’s rules page yourself, and ask PJ Capital if you are unsure how it applies to what you had planned.

What PJ Capital publishes about NinjaTrader

  • Two named platforms. Quantower and Ninja Trader (the firm writes it as two words), each with its own page in the site navigation. No other platform appears anywhere on the site.
  • Rithmic, named only alongside NinjaTrader. It appears in that page’s own description and schema, in the hero heading “Conecta tu cuenta con Rithmic”, and in the FAQ. The Quantower page names no data feed at all, so do not assume anything about what sits behind it.
  • Credentials sent after purchase. The refund terms are written around the moment you receive your credentials, and the rules pages say a contract is sent when you buy. There is no published delivery time and no documented page where the login appears.
  • A step-by-step video, in Spanish. The firm’s NinjaTrader page embeds its own tutorial on connecting a PJ Capital account through Rithmic. The written FAQ gives no steps — they live only in that video. The site and support are Spanish-first.
  • Market data and license covered at both stages. PJ Capital states that market data and license are included during the evaluation and on real accounts, and that it covers account opening and activation costs. Level II is listed on the four funded account cards only; the evaluation cards do not mention it either way.
  • The NinjaTrader platform fee is reimbursed, not prepaid. The firm says that if NinjaTrader charges a fee for platform use, PJ Capital absorbs it and refunds it to you directly — so you may have to pay it first and claim it back. The firm adds that it will tell traders if NinjaTrader changes that policy.
  • Bots, copy trading and VPN are prohibited. The live-sim rules pages say so in capitals, with no exceptions stated. Automated NT8 strategies and any copier fall under that.

What you need before you start

  • NinjaTrader Desktop, installed. PJ Capital links traders to NinjaTrader’s own download page and to account.ninjatrader.com/register, so creating a free NinjaTrader account is part of the flow even though the connection itself is Rithmic.
  • Your credential email from PJ Capital. Username, password, and any system or gateway detail the firm gives you. If it has not arrived, PJ Capital’s support is WhatsApp-led and the number is linked on every page.
  • Multi-Provider enabled in NinjaTrader. Covered in step 1 — do it first, because the Configure dialog does not appear until you have.
  • Clarity on which account you are connecting. An evaluation, or one of the ATLAS, DELTA, ORION or TITAN funded tiers — marketed as “cuentas reales” but labelled Live-Sim in the firm’s own hero and in every rules page title.
  • The trading rules in front of you. The rules pages require positions flat at the 15:15 CST close and a minimum of two trading days per week, and the payouts page describes a seven-day refund window for an account with zero activity, but the firm’s terms say all sales are final with no refunds, so do not count on one.

Connecting PJ Capital to NinjaTrader

1. Turn on Multi-Provider and restart

In the NinjaTrader Control Center go to Tools > Settings > General and tick Multi-Provider, then close NinjaTrader completely and reopen it. Until you restart, Connections > Configure simply is not in the menu, and that missing item is the single most common reason a setup stalls before it starts. If it is still absent after a restart, work through the Configure-missing walkthrough.

2. Add the Rithmic connection

Open Control Center > Connections > Configure. In the Available list, choose the stock Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage entry — that is the entry Rithmic credentials log into. Give the connection a name you will recognise later, such as PJ Capital Eval or PJ Capital ATLAS, so you are never guessing which login you are clicking.

3. Enter the credentials PJ Capital sent you

Type the username and password exactly as issued — they are case-sensitive, and pasting from the email avoids a surprising number of failed logins. The System dropdown is the field to be careful with: it lists a number of Rithmic systems, and the firm’s own tutorial video picks Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago), without saying whether funded accounts differ. Use the detail in your credential email. If the email does not name one, ask PJ Capital support before you try combinations — third-party videos naming a system are not the firm speaking, and a wrong pairing simply returns a rejected login.

4. Connect, then verify before you trade

Select your named connection under Connections and wait for the status to settle. Then check the Accounts tab in the Control Center: your PJ Capital account should be listed, with a balance consistent with the tier you bought. Open a chart on an instrument you intend to trade and confirm data is flowing. If the login succeeds but charts stay empty, that is a market-data entitlement question rather than a connection one — PJ Capital states that data and license are included at both stages and that it covers activation costs, and it publishes no entitlement checklist of its own, so ask the firm rather than signing anything on your own account. Do all of this before you place an order: the seven-day refund window requires an account with zero activity, so a single “just testing” fill closes that door.

Questions we get about PJ Capital and NinjaTrader

Which system should I select in the Rithmic login?

The one named in the credentials PJ Capital sent you. The firm’s own tutorial video on its NinjaTrader page uses Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago). If the email is silent, message PJ Capital support and quote your account tier — they issued the login, so they know which system it belongs to.

Do I have to tell PJ Capital I am using NinjaTrader?

The firm’s own FAQ says no — you can trade your funded account in either Quantower or Ninja Trader without specifying which, and there is no platform selection step.

Does anything change when I move from an evaluation to a funded account?

PJ Capital never states that the Rithmic connection differs technically between stages — no separate gateway, no re-issued credentials, no extra step is published. What you should do is read the new credential email carefully: if it names details that differ from your evaluation, create a second, clearly named connection using those, rather than editing the one you already trust.

Can I run an automated strategy or a copier on a PJ Capital account?

No. PJ Capital’s funded-account rules prohibit bots, copy trading and VPN use, and its terms also ban bots and VPS use, with account closure and forfeited profits if detected. NinjaTrader’s automated strategies fall squarely inside that, and so does running NinjaTrader on a VPS. Treat it as a hard constraint on how you use the platform on these accounts, and take any borderline case to the firm.

I hold more than one account — what happens in NinjaTrader?

NinjaTrader Desktop runs one Rithmic connection at a time, although one connection can carry several accounts under the same login. Our Unlimited Prop Firm Connections add-on lets you connect and manage multiple Rithmic accounts at the same time, from one window, with per-connection monitoring, and it tells you which System entry your firm uses, or adds that entry to NinjaTrader’s System list when it is missing. What you are permitted to do across PJ Capital accounts is governed by PJ Capital’s own terms — which state that each registration is personal and non-transferable — so confirm with the firm what applies to your accounts first.

Who pays the NinjaTrader platform fee?

PJ Capital says it absorbs any NinjaTrader platform fee and reimburses you directly, and that it will inform traders if NinjaTrader changes its policy. Read that as a reimbursement rather than something pre-paid on your behalf, and keep the receipt.
