Overview

Without it

One firm at a time. Disconnect Apex to reach Bulenox, then disconnect Bulenox to go back to Apex. When a connection drops, you get a grey light and no explanation.

With it

Every firm you trade connected at the same time, in one copy of NinjaTrader, on the PC you already own. All of them in one window, with an alert and a specific reason whenever one drops.

Run multiple Rithmic connections in NinjaTrader 8

NinjaTrader allows one Rithmic connection at a time. The limit is set by NinjaTrader on its own adapter rather than by Rithmic, and this add-on clears it.

We have run five or more prop firms connected simultaneously on one PC, and we are confident it handles as many as you need. No second computer, no VPS, and no NinjaTrader 7 running alongside NinjaTrader 8. Your usual workspace, your usual charts, and every account together in the Control Center.

Connect and disconnect every prop firm from one window

Once you are running several firms, the Control Center stops being enough. This is a full connection manager for NinjaTrader, covering every connection you have, Rithmic or not.

  • Connect or disconnect anything in one click, without hunting through menus
  • Tick the connections you want and connect only those, which is the normal case when you have three live firms and six evaluations you are not trading today
  • Disconnect while holding a position and it warns you first, with the numbers, because disconnecting never closes anything
  • Take a provider over from whichever connection is holding it, in one click

Know when a connection drops, and why

NinjaTrader will show a green light for a firm that went down forty minutes ago, for a connection set to load at startup that never actually tried, and for a login that succeeded but returned no accounts. In each case you normally find out when you go to place a trade.

Every connection is monitored on its own, and a failure is reported as a specific cause rather than an error code. Not the broker’s raw text: the actual reason, with numbered steps to fix it. If a connection dies while you are holding contracts, you get a sound and a window immediately rather than a colour change in the status bar.

Seven days of drop history are recorded on your own PC, with the timestamp, the duration, and what you were holding at the time. It also separates the cause: if everything dropped together the problem is your PC or your internet, and if one connection dropped alone the problem is that firm.

Which prop firms and Rithmic brokers are covered

100
Already connect
Eighty-two prop firms and all eighteen Rithmic brokers. The add-on names the exact System entry to pick, and whether you need the live one or the demo one.
13
We add for you
NinjaTrader ships no entry at all for these firms. One click puts them in your System dropdown.
113
Tracked in the catalog
Every prop firm and broker we have found on Rithmic, each resolved to the System entry it needs. The catalog updates itself, with no reinstall.

Picking the wrong System entry is the most common Rithmic setup mistake there is, and firms rarely tell you which one they use. This does. You can also look your firm up in the full connection table.

Copy trades between different prop firms

Copying trades between different prop firms is the thing you cannot do while NinjaTrader holds you to one Rithmic connection, and it is the main reason this add-on exists.

Once the connections are open, a copier can reach across firms: one master account driving followers sitting at completely different firms. In testing, six accounts across multiple prop firms ran from a single master, with every order attributed to the right account and dispatch between 0 and 3 milliseconds. That is what the Accounts Dashboard Suite and our Rithmic trade copier do, and this is the piece that makes it possible.

100% money-back guarantee

We guarantee your Rithmic prop firm connects, and that multiple Rithmic prop firms stay connected at the same time. If either one does not hold on your setup, tell us and we will get it working. If we cannot, you get every dollar back. That applies to any prop firm running on a Rithmic data feed, and it is a specific exception to our normal policy.

Two things to know before you buy

This is a Rithmic product. NinjaTrader has never limited Tradovate, so if every firm you trade is on Tradovate, you do not need the connection half of this, and the software will tell you so itself.

Your firm sets a session limit on your login. Two different firms never compete, because they issue different logins. The same login open in two places does. If your first connection dies when you open a second, that is your session limit, and the window now identifies that case for you.

Refund and Sales Policy

This product carries a 100% money-back guarantee, which is a deliberate exception to our standard policy. We guarantee two things: that your Rithmic prop firm connects, and that multiple Rithmic prop firms stay connected at the same time in one NinjaTrader Desktop Platform installation. If either one does not hold on your setup, tell us. We will get it working, and if we cannot, you get every dollar back. That applies to any prop firm running on a Rithmic data feed.

The one exception, said plainly: this works by clearing a restriction inside NinjaTrader itself. If NinjaTrader ever changes the platform in a way that closes it off again, that is outside our control and outside what any add-on can promise. We will tell you straight away if it happens, and we will keep working the problem.

Everything else is unchanged. Product licenses can only be used on the purchaser’s computer(s), and every purchase includes a lifetime license with future upgrades for free.

Unlimited Prop Firm Connections Features & Benefits

Every prop firm connected at once

More than one Rithmic connection at once

The limit is NinjaTrader's, not Rithmic's, and this clears it. We have run five or more prop firms connected simultaneously on one PC, and we are confident it handles as many as you need.

Copy trades between different prop firms

The thing you cannot do while NinjaTrader holds you to one connection. Six accounts across multiple firms ran off one master in testing, every order on the right account, dispatch between 0 and 3 milliseconds.

No second PC, no VPS, no NinjaTrader 7

The three workarounds people are told to use, and none of them are necessary any more. One machine, one copy of NinjaTrader, your usual workspace and charts.

R|Trader Pro plug-in mode, if you want it

Optional. Shares one market data session instead of every connection opening its own, which conserves your session budget and can cut market data fees. The window works the arithmetic out for you.

Getting connected to the right Rithmic entry

Tells you exactly which System entry to pick

A hundred firms already connect through an entry NinjaTrader ships. Nobody tells you which one, so traders assume their firm is unsupported. Search your firm and it names the entry.

Adds 13 firms NinjaTrader does not ship

For firms with no entry at all, one click puts them in your System dropdown. The catalog tracks 113 firms and brokers and updates itself, so new ones appear without a reinstall.

Live account or demo, answered

The single most common Rithmic setup mistake there is. Funded accounts and evaluations do not use the same entry, and the catalog says which is which for your firm.

It will not overwrite a connection you are using

A saved NinjaTrader login remembers its slot, not its firm. If a slot is taken, this refuses and tells you, rather than silently repointing a saved connection at a different broker.

Every connection in one window

Connect and disconnect in one click

Every connection you have, in one list, each with its own button. No hunting through the Control Center, and it covers everything in NinjaTrader, not only the Rithmic ones.

Tick the ones you want, connect only those

The real case when you have three live firms and six evaluations you are not trading today. Connect All is there too, and it skips any login your broker has already locked.

Disconnecting on a live position warns you first

Disconnecting never closes anything: the position stays live at your broker with your stop no longer managed. So it counts what is at stake, shows you the numbers, and asks. Idle connections stay one click.

Take a provider over in one click

Hand a provider from one connection to another without doing the dance by hand. It waits for the first to properly let go before connecting the second, which is the step that goes wrong manually.

Knowing when a connection drops

Two lights per connection, not one

Your orders and your charts are two separate sessions and they fail independently. NinjaTrader shows one light for both, so a frozen chart and a dead order router look identical in the Control Center. This shows them separately.

Alerts you the moment a connection dies in a trade

A sound and a window straight away if the order session drops while you are holding contracts. It stays quiet when you disconnect on purpose, so the alert keeps its meaning.

A straight answer on why it failed

Not just "disconnected", and not your broker's raw error code. The specific cause, with numbered steps to fix it. Where the evidence does not separate two possible causes, it says so.

Seven days of drop history

Every drop, how long it lasted, and what you were holding at the time. Everything dropped together and it is your PC or your internet. One dropped alone and it is that firm. Neither you nor your firm can tell those apart alone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this just for connecting to more than one Rithmic firm?

No. That is the headline, but most of the product is a connection manager for NinjaTrader as a whole. It watches every connection you have, Rithmic or not, with two lights each because the order session and the market data feed fail independently. It keeps seven days of drop history, names the actual reason a connection failed rather than repeating your broker error code, and lets you connect, disconnect and repair connections without going through the Control Center. If you only ever trade one firm, that half is still worth having.

Why will NinjaTrader not let me connect two prop firms at once?

NinjaTrader marks its Rithmic connections as one at a time. It is a platform setting, not a Rithmic restriction. Rithmic's own library has no such limit, which is why this works.

How many Rithmic connections can I add?

There is no limit in the add-on itself. Once NinjaTrader stops refusing the second connection it stops refusing the third and the fourth too. We have run five or more prop firms connected at the same time on one PC. What actually caps you is not this software, it is your own machine and the session limit your firm sets on each Rithmic login. Different firms issue different logins, so they do not compete with each other.

Can you really run multiple Rithmic connections in NinjaTrader? Everywhere I look says it is impossible.

It is possible, and the common answer is wrong about where the limit comes from. NinjaTrader flags its Rithmic adapter as one connection at a time, so the platform refuses the second login before Rithmic is ever asked. Rithmic's own library has no such restriction, which is why clearing that flag works. You do not need a second PC, a VPS, or NinjaTrader 7 running alongside NinjaTrader 8.

What is the difference between the two green Connected lights?

NinjaTrader tracks two separate things per connection: the order session and the market data feed. They fail independently. You can have live charts and no ability to route an order, or working orders and dead charts, and the Control Center will show you something green either way. This shows both, labelled, so you know which half you have lost.

My NinjaTrader keeps disconnecting. Will this fix that?

It will not stop your internet dropping, and no add-on running inside NinjaTrader can. What it does is turn the complaint into a diagnosis. Every drop is recorded with a timestamp, a duration, your broker's actual error, and what you were holding at the time. It then checks whether anything else dropped at the same moment: dropped together with your other connections and the cause is your PC or your internet link, dropped alone and it is that firm or that login. That is the one thing neither you nor your prop firm can work out alone, because each of you only sees one side of it. If you are on Wi-Fi and it drops at the same time every day, the drop history will show that pattern, and wired ethernet is the single biggest fix available to you.

Why does my second connection keep dropping the first one?

That is a Rithmic session limit on your login, not this add-on. Every Rithmic login has a maximum number of sessions, set by your firm, and you can check it in R|Trader Pro under File, then User Profile. It usually happens because the same login is already open somewhere else, like a VPS or your firm's own platform. Two different firms will not do this to each other. The window now checks for this case directly: if two of your connections are configured with the same login it tells you, which used to be a guess we could only offer as advice.

Does it tell me why a connection failed, or just that it did?

It names the cause: no username or password saved, the password is wrong, the login was rejected and both fields are worth checking, the account is not authorised (an entitlement problem at your prop firm rather than a password one), the broker has temporarily locked this login so waiting is the fix, another connection is holding this provider and here is which one, or an earlier attempt hit the one connection limit so this is worth retrying. Each one comes with numbered steps. Where the evidence genuinely does not separate two cases, it says so instead of guessing.

What if a connection drops while I am in a trade?

You get a sound and a window straight away, rather than a colour change in a status bar you were not looking at. It only fires on a genuine loss, never when you disconnect on purpose or close the platform. The drop is also recorded with what you were holding at the time, so afterwards you can tell the difference between three drops while flat and three drops holding four contracts with stops working.

Does disconnecting from this window close my positions?

No. That is why it asks first. Disconnecting never closes anything: the position stays live at your broker with no platform attached, and every working order including your stop stops being managed from here. So before it disconnects a connection that is holding something, it counts your open positions and working orders, shows you the numbers, and says plainly what it is and is not doing. Disconnecting an idle connection is still a single click.

Does it watch Tradovate connections too, or only Rithmic?

Every connection in NinjaTrader. The health tab, the two lights, the drop history and the diagnosis all work on Tradovate connections, on your data feed, and on anything else you have configured. Only the multi-connection feature is Rithmic-specific, because Rithmic is the only one NinjaTrader restricts.

Do I actually need this for my firm?

Maybe not for the connection part, and the tool will tell you honestly. A hundred firms already connect using an entry NinjaTrader ships with, and it names the right one for you. You need the paid part if you want two or more Rithmic firms connected at the same time, or if your firm is one of the 13 that has no entry at all. The connection manager and health side is useful regardless of how many firms you trade.

Is this against Rithmic's rules?

No. Rithmic supports multiple connections. The limit being removed is NinjaTrader's own.

Do I need a VPS or a second computer for multiple Rithmic connections?

No. Those are the usual workarounds precisely because NinjaTrader refuses a second Rithmic connection on the same machine. With that limit removed, the connections run side by side in one NinjaTrader instance on the PC you already have. A VPS is still worth having if you want your platform running when your machine is off, but it is no longer required just to reach two firms.

Can I copy trades between different prop firms?

Yes, once the connections are open at the same time. You will also need a trade copier. The Accounts Dashboard Suite does this, and that combination is what this add-on makes possible.

Live account or demo, which entry do I pick?

Live brokerage accounts use "Rithmic 01 (Chicago)". Demo and evaluation accounts use "Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago)". Picking the wrong one is the most common setup mistake there is, and the catalog tells you which one your firm needs.

Does it work with Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage?

Yes. That is the connection type most people have, and it is what the multi-connection feature was tested on.

My connection says Connected but I have no accounts. What is that?

Usually the wrong Rithmic adapter. The login succeeds, your broker returns nothing, and NinjaTrader shows you green, which is why it is one of the most expensive support tickets there is: everything looks fine. The window detects it and names it on the card, along with the adapter mistake that normally causes it.

My Apex username has a hyphen in it. Does that matter?

It tells you which system you are on. A hyphen, like Apex-123456, means Rithmic. An underscore means Tradovate, which is an entirely different connection path, and the multi-connection feature does not apply to it. The connection manager still watches it.

How do I know if my prop firm account is Rithmic or Tradovate?

Your username usually gives it away. A hyphen, as in Apex-123456, means Rithmic. An underscore means Tradovate. You can also check which connection type your firm told you to set up in NinjaTrader: "Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage" is Rithmic, while the plain "NinjaTrader" connection covers Tradovate accounts. Our full firm table lists both for every firm we have confirmed.

Will this get my prop firm account in trouble?

It does not change how you trade or what your firm sees. It changes which connections NinjaTrader will hold open on your own PC, and it reports on their health to you. Your firm's rules about copying, account limits and everything else are unchanged, and you are still responsible for following them.

Will this work if I run NinjaTrader on a VPS?

Yes. It runs inside the NinjaTrader Desktop Platform, so wherever that runs, this runs. One thing to watch on a VPS: if you also have the same Rithmic login open on your home PC, those two sessions compete against your firm's session limit, and the older one gets dropped. Different firms never compete with each other because they issue different logins.

Do I need a separate license for each prop firm account?

No. The license is per computer, not per account or per firm. One license covers every Rithmic firm you connect on that machine. If you trade from two computers, pick the 2 PC option.

Can I still use my usual charts and indicators with several firms connected?

Yes. Nothing about how you chart or trade changes. The extra accounts simply appear in your Control Center alongside the first. One thing worth knowing, and the window shows it to you: with several firms connected, NinjaTrader picks one of them to supply the data for each instrument, so it quietly becomes the setting that decides whose feed your charts are running on.

What happens if I uninstall it?

The 100 firms that connect natively are unaffected, because those entries belong to NinjaTrader. A connection you saved against one of the 13 added firms depends on this add-on staying installed, because it is the thing that puts that entry in the list. The health monitoring and drop history stop, since they run inside the add-on.

NinjaTrader locks up completely. Is that this?

No, and it is worth being clear about it. A frozen NinjaTrader is the whole process hanging, which stops our code too, so no add-on can rescue it from the inside. That is what our free NinjaTrader Repair Tool is for. Connection drops and platform freezes look similar from the outside but have nothing to do with each other.

What if it does not work with my prop firm?

Then you get your money back. The guarantee covers two things: that your Rithmic prop firm connects, and that multiple Rithmic prop firms stay connected at the same time in one NinjaTrader instance. If either one does not hold on your setup, tell us and we will get it working. If we cannot, you get every dollar back, and that applies to any prop firm running on a Rithmic data feed. It is a specific exception to our normal policy.

Rithmic or Tradovate, which is better for multiple accounts?

On raw connection count, Tradovate. NinjaTrader has never limited Tradovate connections, so several run side by side with nothing installed. Rithmic is the one NinjaTrader restricts to a single connection, and that is the restriction this removes. Rithmic wins on request headroom, though: Tradovate caps API activity at 5,000 actions per rolling 60 minutes, and placing, modifying and cancelling an order each count separately. Apex spells out what that means once you trade more than one account, since placing an order on 20 accounts counts as 20 distinct actions. Copy trading multiplies every click you make, and when you reach the ceiling no further actions are accepted until it resets. Rithmic publishes no equivalent cap. Most prop firms issue Rithmic logins and plenty of traders have no choice in the matter, which is why this exists. If every firm you trade happens to be on Tradovate, the add-on's own Tradovate tab will tell you so.

Has NinjaTrader stopped supporting Rithmic?

No. Rithmic connections work normally in NinjaTrader and are how a large share of prop firm accounts reach the platform. What NinjaTrader does do is mark its Rithmic adapter as one connection at a time, which is a platform setting rather than anything to do with Rithmic dropping support. Separately, some individual firms have moved to other technology, but that is a firm by firm decision, not a platform-wide change.

How do I send you what my window is showing?

One press of Send Diagnostics. It uploads every connection, its verdict, its drops and your platform details, along with today's connection log, and it leads with whatever is currently worst so we start at the problem rather than asking you what it says. There is nothing to copy, paste or screenshot. It never includes your username, password, account numbers or balances.

Is Rithmic down, or is it my connection?

Both look the same inside NinjaTrader, which is the problem. Rithmic closes every Friday around 5pm Eastern and returns Sunday evening, with maintenance running through the weekend, so a Saturday failure is almost always expected downtime rather than a fault. Outside those windows the two lights tell you where the fault sits. If the order session and the data feed fail across every firm at once, it is upstream of you. If one firm fails while the others hold, it is that firm or that login. The drop history keeps the timestamps, so you can check afterwards instead of guessing at the time.

Why will NinjaTrader not reconnect after a disconnect?

Because it stops trying. NinjaTrader makes its own attempts for a short while, and when those fail it writes a Panic entry to the log and abandons the connection until somebody clicks. There is no auto-reconnect setting to turn on, which surprises most people who go looking for one. This window does not reconnect for you either, and it is worth being clear about that. What it does is tell you the moment it happened, what you were holding at the time, and let you bring the connection back without going through the Control Center.

Does NinjaTrader connect automatically on startup?

No. NinjaTrader has never had a connect-on-startup setting, and requests for one go back to NinjaTrader 7. Every session begins by opening the Connections menu and clicking through your firms one at a time, which is tedious with one firm and genuinely slow with five. What this changes is the clicking. Connect All opens every connection you have ticked in a single press, and skips any login your broker has locked.

Can I have multiple Rithmic accounts in NinjaTrader?

Yes, once the platform stops refusing them. NinjaTrader marks its Rithmic connections as one at a time, so out of the box a second account replaces the first rather than joining it. That marker is what this lifts. Five or more Rithmic accounts running together has been verified, and they appear in your account list exactly like any other account.

My Rithmic login says logon failed. What is wrong?

Three causes account for nearly all of it. The first is a trailing space picked up when the username or password was copied out of your firm dashboard, which NinjaTrader reads as an extra character. The second is the wrong System entry for the account type, because evaluation, sim funded and live accounts route to different Rithmic gateways and the correct password is rejected on the wrong one. The third is a data agreement still unsigned in your firm portal. This window tells you which case you are in, whether that is missing credentials, a rejected password, a locked login or an authorisation problem at the firm, rather than repeating the raw error back to you.

Why does NinjaTrader not show all the Rithmic system options?

NinjaTrader ships a fixed list of Rithmic system entries and it has not kept pace with how many prop firms now run on Rithmic. If your firm is missing from the dropdown, that does not mean the firm is unsupported. It means the entry was never added. The Find My Firm tab carries a live catalogue of 113 firms and tells you which System entry your account belongs to, including the 13 that have to be reached through Rithmic own configuration table.
