Live AMP or Ironbeam Rithmic Account Plus Your Prop Firms in One NinjaTrader

By Affordable Indicators· October 1, 2026·7 min read
Live AMP or Ironbeam Rithmic Account Plus Your Prop Firms in One NinjaTrader

A common setup among futures traders: your own live account at a broker such as AMP Futures or Ironbeam, connected through Rithmic, plus evaluation or funded accounts at one or more Rithmic prop firms. NinjaTrader 8 runs one Rithmic connection at a time, so connecting the live account knocks your prop firm off, and connecting the prop firm knocks the live account off.

If your broker supports NinjaTrader on your account, this guide shows how to keep both connected in one NinjaTrader with Unlimited Prop Firm Connections, which System entry a live broker account uses, and what the add-on does not change about your broker’s or NinjaTrader’s terms.

The short answer

  • Live broker accounts on Rithmic use the stock Rithmic 01 entry at the gateway nearest you, usually Rithmic 01 (Chicago). Prop firm evaluations usually use Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago).
  • On its own, NinjaTrader holds one of them at a time. With Unlimited Prop Firm Connections, they stay connected together.
  • A customer runs it today: a live AMP account plus Apex, Lucid Trading, Tradeify and TradeDay, five Rithmic logins connected at the same time in one NinjaTrader 8.1.
  • Use the Rithmic credentials your broker issues for that account, not your broker portal login or a CQG login.
  • Your broker has to allow NinjaTrader on the account. The add-on handles the connections; it does not change your broker’s policy or your NinjaTrader license.

What one of our customers runs

On October 1, 2026, one of our customers had five Rithmic connections open at once in NinjaTrader 8.1.8.3: his own live AMP Futures account on Rithmic 01 (Chicago), and prop firm accounts at Apex Trader Funding, Lucid Trading, Tradeify and TradeDay. Without the add-on, NinjaTrader would have refused every connection after the first with “Provider ‘Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage’ already has a running connection.”

Getting there took one fix on our side, and it is worth knowing about. When he first connected AMP alongside his prop firms in early September, the connection came up but AMP refused his orders. Our September 14 update changed how orders are routed so that a live broker connection keeps NinjaTrader’s own order routing, and he confirmed his AMP orders went through. That is one customer, and we would rather say so than imply hundreds.

Which System entry a live broker account uses

Rithmic runs separate systems for live and simulated trading, and NinjaTrader’s System dropdown lists both:

  • Rithmic 01, with a choice of gateway such as Chicago, US East or US West, is the live system. Live accounts at AMP Futures, Ironbeam, EdgeClear, Optimus Futures, Dorman, Phillip Capital and other Rithmic brokers use it.
  • Rithmic Paper Trading is the simulated system. Broker demo accounts and most prop firm evaluations use it.

Pick the gateway nearest your computer. Our customer’s AMP account connected on Rithmic 01 (Chicago) 27 times and failed all 11 times he tried Rithmic 01 (Europe) from his location, so the gateway choice is not cosmetic. No broker needs a custom entry; the stock Rithmic 01 entries cover them all.

The broker’s name is not the System. “AMP” or “Ironbeam” tells you who holds your money. “Rithmic 01 (Chicago)” tells NinjaTrader which Rithmic servers your login lives on.

Get the right credentials from your broker

Many brokers offer more than one data and order routing technology, so having an account at AMP or Ironbeam does not by itself mean you have Rithmic credentials. Ask your broker to enable Rithmic on the account and issue the Rithmic username and password. Then complete the exchange data agreements Rithmic asks for, and check that the account appears when you log in to R|Trader Pro with the same credentials and System. If the account will not show up in R|Trader Pro, NinjaTrader will not show it either, and the broker is the one to fix it.

NinjaTrader licensing and your broker’s policy

Connections are the add-on’s job. Whether you may trade a live broker account in NinjaTrader at all is decided by your broker and by NinjaTrader, and Unlimited Prop Firm Connections changes neither. Three facts are worth knowing before you set this up:

  • Prop firm accounts are the easy part. NinjaTrader’s own Rithmic prop firm guide says its Multiple Broker add-on is not required for evaluation services.
  • The Multiple Broker add-on does not cover Rithmic brokers. NinjaTrader lists it at $99 a month for Interactive Brokers, Schwab, cTrader, Forex.com/City Index and FXCM. AMP, Ironbeam and EdgeClear are not on that list, so buying it will not switch on a Rithmic broker account.
  • Your broker decides who gets NinjaTrader. AMP Futures’ existing-user policy, updated April 10, 2026, says AMP cannot enable new NinjaTrader setups, even for traders with grandfathered licenses, and attributes that restriction to NinjaTrader. Other brokers have their own rules.

So if your broker and your NinjaTrader license already let you trade your live Rithmic account in NinjaTrader, the add-on keeps it connected next to your prop firms. If they do not, sort that out with your broker first. You may read elsewhere that a free NinjaTrader account plus an add-on is all a live broker account needs; check that against your broker’s and NinjaTrader’s own terms before you trade real money on it.

Setting it up

  1. Install Unlimited Prop Firm Connections from your Members Area, restart NinjaTrader, and license this PC in its window (Tools, then Affordable Indicators, then Unlimited Prop Firm Connections).
  2. On NinjaTrader 8.1, turn on Multi-provider (Tools, then Settings; some versions say Options), then restart. Without it, the Configure button does not appear. On 8.0.28.0 there is no such setting; skip this step.
  3. Add the live connection. In Connections, then Configure, add Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage, enter your broker-issued Rithmic username and password, choose Rithmic 01 (Chicago) (or your nearest Rithmic 01 gateway), and name it clearly, for example “AMP live”.
  4. Add one connection per prop firm login the same way, each with the System entry that firm uses. Our list of which System entry each prop firm connects on has the measured answers.
  5. Connect them all from the add-on’s window and check that each account appears in your account list.
  6. Select the account deliberately in Chart Trader, the SuperDOM and every strategy before you place a trade. With a live account and prop firm accounts side by side, the account selector is the most important setting on the screen.

Copying trades between your live account and prop firms

Once your live account and prop firms are connected together, a trade copier such as Duplicate Account Actions can mirror trades between them. Connecting is the add-on’s job; copying is the copier’s. Check each firm’s rules first: some prop firms restrict copying from accounts you hold elsewhere, and a live account trades real money, so test the setup on simulation accounts before it touches the live one.

Unlimited Prop Firm Connections

Keeps your live Rithmic broker account and your Rithmic prop firms connected at the same time in one NinjaTrader, shows the health of every connection in one window, and alerts you the moment one drops, including whether you were holding a position when it did. Runs on NinjaTrader 8.1.x.x and 8.0.28.0.

$495 once for 1 PC ($795 for 2 PCs), free updates, human live chat support, and a 30-day money-back guarantee if your Rithmic prop firms will not connect or will not stay connected together and we cannot get it working. See Unlimited Prop Firm Connections

FAQ

Can I connect a live AMP Futures account and a prop firm account in NinjaTrader at the same time?

Not with NinjaTrader alone if both are on Rithmic; it holds one Rithmic connection at a time. With Unlimited Prop Firm Connections installed, both stay connected. One of our customers runs a live AMP account alongside four Rithmic prop firms in one NinjaTrader 8.1.

Which System entry do I use for a live AMP or Ironbeam Rithmic account?

Rithmic 01, at the gateway nearest you, usually Rithmic 01 (Chicago). Demo accounts at those brokers use Rithmic Paper Trading instead.

Does my AMP or Ironbeam account work with Rithmic, or only CQG?

That depends on how the broker set up your account. Many brokers offer several routes. Ask the broker to enable Rithmic and issue Rithmic credentials; a CQG login connects through a different NinjaTrader connection and is not affected by the Rithmic limit.

Does Unlimited Prop Firm Connections change my NinjaTrader license?

No. It manages connections inside NinjaTrader and uses NinjaTrader’s own Rithmic adapter. Your NinjaTrader license, your broker’s platform policy and each prop firm’s rules apply exactly as they did before you installed it.

Does it work on NinjaTrader 8.0.28.0?

Yes. It runs on 8.0.28.0 and on the current 8.1 releases. See our NinjaTrader 8.0.28.0 guide for what differs there.

Customer results come from connection reports sent by Unlimited Prop Firm Connections installs between September and October 2026. Affordable Indicators, Inc. is not affiliated with or endorsed by AMP Futures, Ironbeam, EdgeClear, NinjaTrader, Rithmic, or any prop firm named here; your broker’s and firm’s own terms govern how you may use your accounts, so check with them first.
