How to Connect Take Profit Trader to NinjaTrader (Rithmic)
Take Profit Trader connects over Rithmic on the shared Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago) entry. The setup is short; the part worth reading is what happens when you also trade another Rithmic firm.
NinjaTrader holds one Rithmic connection at a time. Connect Take Profit Trader and whichever Rithmic firm you already have — or want to add — drops off.
What you need before you start
- NinjaTrader Desktop 8, current version. If you have no NinjaTrader account yet you can still download the platform without one.
- Your Rithmic credentials from Take Profit Trader — the Rithmic username and password from your Take Profit Trader dashboard, issued per account when it is activated.
- Check which feed your account is on. Take Profit Trader issues CQG and Tradovate logins as well as Rithmic ones, and they are not interchangeable.
Connecting Take Profit Trader to NinjaTrader

Step 1
Get your Rithmic credentials from Take Profit Trader
Open the account in your Take Profit Trader dashboard and copy its Rithmic username and password. They are case-sensitive; paste rather than type. If what the dashboard shows you is a Tradovate or CQG login, none of the Rithmic steps below apply.

Download the NinjaTrader Desktop platform
Make sure you have the current version of NinjaTrader Desktop, installed from your NinjaTrader Account Dashboard. If you do not have a NinjaTrader username and cannot sign in to the dashboard, NinjaTrader documents how to download NinjaTrader Desktop without a NinjaTrader Brokerage account. You do not need to pay for a licence to trade a prop account.

Enable Multi-Provider
Multi-Provider is what lets NinjaTrader hold a prop firm connection alongside anything else, and it is not enabled by default on a new install. Log in to NinjaTrader Desktop with your NinjaTrader Account Dashboard username and password, then go to Tools > Settings > General and tick Multi-provider.
Restart the platform. The Configure button then appears on the Control Center > Connections menu, which is where the Take Profit Trader connection gets created.

Add the Rithmic connection
Select Configure on the Connections tab. In the Available list, double-click Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage, or select it and click Add. Once it appears under Configured you can edit its connection properties on the right.

Enter your credentials and choose Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago)
Paste the Rithmic username and password from your TPT dashboard, then set System to Rithmic Paper Trading with Chicago as the location. Rename the connection to Take Profit Trader and click OK.

Select your new connection
Finally, go to Control Center > Connections and pick the connection you just created. A green indicator at the bottom left means you are connected, and your Take Profit Trader account appears under the Accounts tab within a few seconds.
If it will not connect
- Green, but no account. The evaluation entitlement has not been enabled on the account. Ask TPT support to enable it; rebuilding the connection will not help.
- Login failed. Wrong credential set, or the wrong System. TPT also issues CQG and Tradovate logins, and those will not authenticate against a Rithmic entry.
- It disconnects when I connect Apex or Bulenox. Those are Rithmic too, and NinjaTrader holds only one Rithmic connection at a time.
- No Configure button on the Connections menu. Multi-provider is off. Tools > Settings > General.
