Does 4PropTrader Work With NinjaTrader?

Does 4PropTrader Work With NinjaTrader?

No. As of 14 September 2026, 4PropTrader is a DXFeed firm, and NinjaTrader 8 ships no dxFeed connection — so there is no way to point NinjaTrader at a 4PropTrader account.

That answer changed recently, which is why you will still find guides and directory listings saying otherwise. 4PropTrader did sell a Rithmic route, with a full R|Trader Pro setup guide, from at least May 2024 up to and including 9 May 2026. It is gone. Today all six account tiers check out with a single hard-coded “DxFeed” line item and no feed selector, and the connectivity page carries one non-clickable DXFeed button above DXFeed-only instructions — identical on all six language versions of the site. The homepage says it plainly: “Every account comes with DXFeed.”

We found no statement from 4PropTrader about NinjaTrader either way — the name does not appear on any page we checked, in any of the six languages. So there is no firm position here to read as a yes or a no. The answer comes down to what the two ends can actually connect over.

What 4PropTrader actually runs on

  • Data feed: DXFeed, and only DXFeed. It is the only feed the firm names, the only feed logo it shows, and the only product on the checkout pages for all six tiers.
  • Platforms with published setup steps: VolSys, VolBook, Quantower and ATAS. The firm states that every futures account comes with free access to ATAS.
  • Also named on the homepage: Bookmap and Volumetrica appear in the partner strip, though the connectivity page carries no setup steps for them (VolSys and VolBook are Volumetrica’s own products).
  • Your account itself: a dashboard and web trader at dxfeed.4proptrader.com, plus a mobile app. For VolSys and VolBook, the firm says the license key is on the web platform, on the page where you downloaded the desktop software.
  • Before you connect anything: the connectivity page tells you to log into your 4PropTrader dashboard and take the professional/non-professional self-certification before connecting to any platform. Level 2 data is published as a separate $9.99 per exchange or $29.99 for all exchanges, billed on the 1st of each month.
  • Evaluation and funded: the same DXFeed stack is described for both. Nothing on the site sets out a different feed or platform for the performance account, which is 4PropTrader’s term for the stage after you pass.
  • Rithmic, until recently: archived copies of the connectivity page show the Rithmic tab live through 9 May 2026 and absent by 14 September 2026 — removed inside the last four months.

One thing to be aware of while you research: the connectivity page still carries a stale Rithmic page title and meta description above a body that is entirely DXFeed, and some platform help articles and prop-firm directories still list a 4PropTrader Rithmic connection. Those are leftovers from before the change, not a route you can buy today. Rithmic’s public server did still list a 4PropTrader system on 24 September 2026, so an account opened on the old Rithmic route may still connect. Ask the firm what yours is on.

Why that does not reach NinjaTrader 8

NinjaTrader 8 reaches an account through the connection types it ships in its Connections dialog — Rithmic, Tradovate, CQG and the others on that list. Each one is a piece of NinjaTrader’s own software that knows how to talk to that specific provider. If NinjaTrader ships no connection for a given feed, there is no entry to select and no fields to type credentials into, so the connection cannot be made regardless of what credentials you hold.

dxFeed is not one of the connection types NinjaTrader 8 ships. That is a fact about NinjaTrader’s capabilities, not a criticism of 4PropTrader — DXFeed is a solid feed, and it drives four platforms the firm documents step by step. It just is not a road that ends at NinjaTrader 8.

What you can do instead

If you already hold a 4PropTrader account, trade it on what it comes with: ATAS is included free with every futures account, and Quantower, VolSys and VolBook all have step-by-step setup on the firm’s connectivity page.

If NinjaTrader 8 specifically is the point — your indicators, your ATSs, your workspace — then the thing to look for is a firm that issues Rithmic or Tradovate credentials, because those are connection types NinjaTrader ships. Our connection guides list the firms we have checked and how each one connects, and our prop firm discounts page has the current offers on them.

If this changes

We checked 4PropTrader’s own site, all six language versions of its connectivity page and all six live checkouts on 14 September 2026. A firm’s stack can change — this one changed within the last four months — so check with 4PropTrader before you buy. That goes double if you opened an account while the Rithmic route was still sold: the firm published no announcement about existing Rithmic accounts either way, so ask them directly what yours is on now.
