Does AstroFund Work With NinjaTrader?

No — not for trading. You cannot trade an AstroFund evaluation or funded account from NinjaTrader Desktop. AstroFund’s accounts route through the Volumetrica platform, Volumetrica is not one of the connection types NinjaTrader 8 offers, and the credentials AstroFund issues have nothing in NinjaTrader to be entered into.

The firm’s market data comes from dxFeed. After you buy, the logins you end up with are a Trade Desk login sent by email and then, depending on the front-end you choose, either a dxFeed User ID and password by email or a Volumetrica license key you collect from your Trade Desk dashboard. Rithmic and Tradovate do not appear in AstroFund’s published documentation.

NinjaTrader does appear on AstroFund’s site, which is where some of the confusion starts. The firm publishes exactly one NinjaTrader document — “Add an Indicator to Ninjatrader 8”, updated 16 April 2025 — and it is a walkthrough for importing an AstroFund indicator onto your charts as a NinjaScript add-on. It says nothing about connecting an account, and the firm publishes no position either way on using NinjaTrader to trade one.

What AstroFund actually runs on

  • Order routing and accounts — Volumetrica. The firm’s platforms FAQ, updated 3 July 2026, states that accounts run on the Volumetrica platform.
  • Market data — dxFeed. In Quantower you select the “dxFeed Prop” provider and the “Real” connection option, then enter the User ID and password AstroFund sends you.
  • Front-ends the firm names. That same July 2026 FAQ lists Deepcharts, SATAS and Quantower.
  • Front-ends with firm-written setup guides. Quantower (guide updated 16 April 2025) and VolBook (29 April 2025), and the VolBook guide also names Volsys as a selectable Volumetrica platform. The two lists do not line up — VolBook is not in the FAQ, and Deepcharts and SATAS have no published setup steps — and the guides are more than a year older than the FAQ, so ask AstroFund which front-ends are current before you commit.
  • Where the credentials come from. You pick your platform inside the Trade Desk dashboard after purchase rather than at checkout, and the platform-specific logins and license follow from there.
  • Not named in AstroFund’s published documentation. Rithmic, R|Trader, R|Trader Pro, Tradovate, CQG, TradingView, MetaTrader or Bookmap.

Why that does not reach NinjaTrader 8

NinjaTrader Desktop reaches a live account through the connection types listed in its Connections window, and Volumetrica is not among them. Credentials that are perfectly valid with the firm that issued them still need a matching connection type at the platform end, and AstroFund’s Trade Desk login, dxFeed User ID and Volumetrica license have no counterpart there.

Market data does not change that. Price data and order routing are separate things, so even with chart data on screen in NinjaTrader, orders would have no path to an AstroFund account. AstroFund’s data entitlement is the “dxFeed Prop” provider inside the platforms it supports, which is not the same thing as a retail data plug-in.

What you can do instead

The straightforward option is to trade AstroFund on the platforms it provides. Quantower and VolBook are the two with step-by-step guides written by the firm itself, so they are the least troublesome starting points. One thing to know before you pick: the platform choice is one-time, and AstroFund’s own note says you cannot go back without asking an admin in its Discord to reset it.

If NinjaTrader 8 specifically is what you want to trade in, the practical route is to fund with a firm that issues Rithmic or Tradovate credentials, since those are connection types NinjaTrader 8 supports. Our connection guides set out which firms issue what.

If this changes

Checked on 14 September 2026 against AstroFund’s own platforms FAQ, its Quantower and VolBook connection guides, its full Platforms documentation category and a sitewide search of its site for Rithmic. A firm’s stack can change without much announcement, so if you are deciding on this basis, confirm with AstroFund before you buy.
