How to Connect EdgeProp to NinjaTrader 8 (Rithmic)

EdgeProp (edgeproptrading.com) issues its traders a Rithmic username and password. You collect them from the EdgeProp Dashboard — open the main dashboard, find the Account Summary panel and click Show Credentials in its top right to reveal the username and password. The same details are filed under Dashboard > My Trading Accounts, and once you are funded they appear under Account Management > Funded & Ready Accounts. EdgeProp’s own guides label the fields plainly as Rithmic Username and Rithmic Password, and its ATAS guide calls the username your EDGE ID. Those are ordinary Rithmic login details, which is what NinjaTrader Desktop’s Rithmic connection reads.
Before anything else, settle which infrastructure you actually bought. EdgeProp asks you to choose at checkout: select your account size first, then your platform, and the choice splits into a Rithmic route and a WealthCharts route. EdgeProp describes WealthCharts as an all-in-one option with built-in market data that needs no separate Rithmic feed. If that is the route you took, you have no Rithmic credentials at all and nothing below applies — look for a Rithmic username on your dashboard before you spend an evening on connection settings.
It is also worth being straight about where NinjaTrader sits with this firm. EdgeProp’s current platform page, bylined July 2026, lists six platforms with one license included per account — tradesea, WealthCharts, Bookmap, ATAS, Jigsaw Daytradr and Journalytix — and NinjaTrader is not among them. The homepage does not name NinjaTrader, and the help centre publishes no NinjaTrader setup article. Two older rule pages do mention it in passing: one in a hedged list of platforms it says may be supported, the other in a risk rule about where the maximum contract size applies. So treat NinjaTrader 8 as your own software connecting with EdgeProp-issued Rithmic credentials rather than a platform license EdgeProp provides, and confirm with EdgeProp what you are permitted to use on your account before you trade it.
One more consequence of that: because EdgeProp publishes no NinjaTrader instructions, the connection details below are drawn from its guides for other Rithmic platforms and from how NinjaTrader itself works. Check every name against what EdgeProp actually issued you, and ask their support if a field does not match.
What EdgeProp issues and includes
- A Rithmic username and password — revealed by Show Credentials on the dashboard, with a copy button next to them. The firm warns that credentials are case-sensitive and asks you to paste rather than type.
- One platform license per account — chosen after account activation, from the six-platform list above. EdgeProp states that multiple platforms cannot be active at the same time and that switching may need a manual request to support.
- Level 1 market data by default — real-time top-of-book bid and ask plus order placement, on every active evaluation and funded account.
- Level 2 depth as a paid add-on — activated at Dashboard > Addons > Market Data, billed automatically at month end, and priced per exchange or as a full CME bundle. EdgeProp says the feed updates for all connected platforms once it is active.
- R|Trader Pro — Rithmic’s own application, which EdgeProp describes as the official platform for monitoring accounts and managing orders at broker level. Its ATAS guide tells you to start R|Trader Pro first and enable plug-ins.
- Three account stages — Evaluation, PA and Live. EdgeProp states that PA accounts are simulated, trading a SIM feed with live market data, and that the Live stage mirrors your orders behind the scenes rather than changing how you connect.
What you need before you start
- NinjaTrader Desktop, installed and updated, with a NinjaTrader account you can log into.
- Your EdgeProp Rithmic username and password, copied from the dashboard rather than retyped.
- Market data enabled on the account. EdgeProp’s Bookmap checklist treats credentials received and market data enabled as two separate preconditions, so confirm both.
- Your account code to hand — evaluation accounts are formatted EDGE plus size plus an id, funded accounts as EDGEPA plus an id. Support will ask for it.
- R|Trader Pro downloaded. EdgeProp’s ATAS guide has you start it first with plug-ins enabled; the firm publishes no such instruction for NinjaTrader, but it is worth having ready.
- Ten quiet minutes, ideally outside the open, because a first connection may involve Rithmic’s agreement prompts.
Connecting EdgeProp to NinjaTrader
1. Collect your credentials from the dashboard
Open the EdgeProp Dashboard, find Account Summary and click Show Credentials in the top right. Use the copy button and paste into NinjaTrader with Ctrl+V. This is not fussiness — the credentials are case-sensitive, and a mistyped character produces a rejection that reads like a server problem. EdgeProp’s own troubleshooting note is to make sure you are using credentials from the EdgeProp Dashboard and not from another platform, which catches out anyone holding accounts at more than one firm.
2. Turn on Multi-Provider in NinjaTrader
In the Control Center go to Tools > Settings > General and tick Multi-Provider, then restart NinjaTrader. Until you have done this and restarted, Connections > Configure simply is not there, and people lose half an hour hunting for a menu item that cannot appear yet. If it is still missing after a restart, our note on the missing Configure item covers the rest.
3. Add the Rithmic connection
Go to Connections > Configure, and from the Available list pick the stock Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage entry. Nothing in that list is branded EdgeProp — the credentials you paste in are what identify the account. Enter the username and password, and give the connection a name you will recognise later; the account code works well.
4. Choose the System (in NinjaTrader the gateway is part of it)
This is the step to slow down on. EdgeProp does not publish a System and Gateway pairing for NinjaTrader. Its guides for other platforms simply say to select the correct system and gateway, and the only server name it prints anywhere is EdgeProp Europe, in the ATAS guide — which is written for a different platform and may not be what your account uses. So do not copy a pairing out of another platform’s instructions or another firm’s guide. Use what your own dashboard shows for the account, and if the dashboard does not name one, ask EdgeProp support which system and gateway your account sits on before you go further. A mismatched pairing produces a login rejection that tells you nothing useful about the real cause.
5. Connect, then check what you actually have
Start R|Trader Pro first if EdgeProp has told you to for your setup, then connect in NinjaTrader. EdgeProp notes that you may need to sign the Rithmic agreements during this process, so do not be surprised by agreement prompts on a first connect. Once connected, open the Accounts tab and confirm your account appears with the balance you expect, then pull up a chart on an instrument you trade and watch the last price move before you place anything.
Questions we get about EdgeProp and NinjaTrader
There is no Configure item under Connections
Multi-Provider is not on, or NinjaTrader has not been restarted since you ticked it. Go back to Tools > Settings > General, tick it, and restart the platform properly rather than just closing the Control Center window.
My login is rejected and the message says nothing useful
Work through it in order: credentials pasted from the dashboard rather than typed, the correct account (evaluation credentials differ from funded ones), and the System and Gateway matching what EdgeProp issued. Rithmic rejections are famously uninformative, so our walkthrough of Rithmic logon failures is worth keeping open. When you do contact EdgeProp support, send your username, the gateway you selected and a screenshot — that is the format their own guides ask for.
Do my credentials change when I get funded?
Yes. EdgeProp states that once funded, new credentials are issued and clearly marked as a funded account, and the code changes shape from EDGE to EDGEPA. They arrive once EdgeProp’s own funding steps are done — its Account Management section covers KYC, contract signing and activation — and you re-enter a fresh username and password in NinjaTrader at that point rather than carrying the evaluation login forward.
My chart works but the SuperDOM shows no depth
Level 1 is included by default; Level 2 depth of market is a separate paid add-on you activate at Dashboard > Addons > Market Data. Without it you get top-of-book only, which is enough to trade but not enough to fill a DOM ladder.
Should I still use R|Trader Pro?
EdgeProp treats it as the broker-level view of your account for monitoring positions and managing orders, and it tells ATAS users to launch it first with plug-ins enabled. It costs nothing to have it running while you connect, and it is a sensible first thing to check if your platform connects but behaves oddly.
Running more than one Rithmic account
NinjaTrader Desktop runs one Rithmic connection at a time, although one connection can carry several accounts under the same login. Our Unlimited Prop Firm Connections add-on lets you connect and manage multiple Rithmic accounts at the same time, from one window, with per-connection monitoring, and it tells you which System entry your firm uses, or adds that entry to NinjaTrader’s System list when it is missing. It is not what creates the connection above. Whether you may trade several accounts together, or copy between them, is governed by each firm’s own terms — check EdgeProp’s rules for your programme first.
