How to Connect Edmond Trader Funding to NinjaTrader 8 (Rithmic)

Edmond Trader Funding issues Rithmic credentials, and the Rithmic connection entry those credentials log into already ships with NinjaTrader Desktop. The firm’s own help pages are unusually clear about the plumbing: its supported-platforms page, updated 3 September 2026, is headed “Primary Platform: Rithmic” and says the firm uses Rithmic as its primary trading platform provider, while its Rithmic setup page calls Rithmic its official trading platform provider. That supported-platforms page also covers Rithmic plugin mode for third-party Rithmic-compatible platforms, which is the line NinjaTrader users tend to be looking for.

Two details do most of the work here, and both come from Edmond rather than from NinjaTrader. Your Rithmic user ID is in the format ETF-XXXXXX, and the System (sometimes called the gateway) you are meant to log into is named in your welcome email. Edmond’s trader onboarding page tells you to use the System from that email and notes it is often Rithmic Paper Trading. Get those two right and the rest of the setup is routine.

One point to settle before you start. Edmond does not provide a NinjaTrader license. Its FAQ answers “Is a NinjaTrader license provided?” with “No”, and says that if you already pay for a platform that connects through Rithmic, you may use your personal subscription with your Edmond credentials. You are responsible for that license and its fees, and Edmond’s own terms govern your account.

The other thing that trips people up is the System list itself. NinjaTrader’s list is made up of generic Rithmic systems rather than firm names, and our connection catalogue has Edmond on a shared Rithmic gateway, so the credentials are what identify the firm and the account. People scroll the list, fail to find their firm, and conclude it is not supported — the name they were looking for was never going to be there.

One housekeeping note before the steps. Our connection catalogue records Edmond Trader Funding as reported rather than verified — the routing below matches what the firm publishes, but we have not confirmed it against a live account ourselves. Check every name in this guide against what Edmond actually issued you, and if the two disagree, ask the firm and go with their answer.

What Edmond Trader Funding runs on

The firm publishes a short, specific platform list rather than a vague one, which makes life easier:

  • Rithmic, as the primary provider. The supported-platforms page covers R|Trader Pro on desktop, web and mobile, plus Rithmic plugin mode for third-party Rithmic-compatible platforms. That plugin-mode line is the one that matters for NinjaTrader users.
  • TradeSea. The homepage plan header reads “Rithmic & TradeSea”, which looks like two feeds but is not. TradeSea, at app.tradesea.ai, is a front end sitting on the same Rithmic credentials — you connect through Account Centre > Connect New > Edmond Trader Funding, choosing Simulation for an evaluation account.
  • Rithmic credentials in the member area. The member area carries Rithmic username and password fields, and the dashboard runs an end-of-day sync from Rithmic. That is the first place to look if your welcome email has gone astray.
  • No Tradovate. The published list is Rithmic plus TradeSea, and there is no sign of Tradovate anywhere on the site. If you were hoping for a Tradovate-based workflow, this is not that firm.
  • No NinjaTrader license from the firm. As above, the FAQ answers “No”, and says you may connect a personal license you already pay for with your Edmond credentials.

What you need before you start

  • Your Edmond Rithmic user ID and password. The user ID looks like ETF-XXXXXX and arrives in your welcome email; the member area is where the Rithmic username and password fields for the account live.
  • The System or gateway name from your welcome email. Edmond’s onboarding page points you at that email specifically and says the value is often Rithmic Paper Trading. Treat the email as the authority and this guide as the sanity check.
  • Signed Rithmic market-data agreements. Complete them at signup.rithmic.com/apps.html; Edmond’s onboarding tells traders to select Non-Professional for market data, so answer accordingly if that is your status. Unsigned agreements are the quiet cause of a lot of blank charts.
  • NinjaTrader Desktop with Multi-Provider ticked. That setting lives in Tools > Settings > General, and you must restart NinjaTrader afterwards for it to take effect.
  • Knowing which stage your account is at. Edmond names your System in the welcome email, and it states that evaluation and PRO accounts both trade in a simulated environment, so use the email for the account you are connecting. If you are not certain which you are on, check the member area before you start rather than guessing.

Connecting Edmond Trader Funding to NinjaTrader

1. Sign the Rithmic agreements

Go to signup.rithmic.com/apps.html and work through the market-data agreements attached to your user ID, answering non-professional if that describes you. The exchanges gate live data on these, so an account with unsigned agreements can authenticate perfectly well and still show you nothing. Doing this first removes an entire category of confusion later.

2. Turn on Multi-Provider and restart

In Tools > Settings > General, tick Multi-Provider, then close NinjaTrader completely and reopen it. Without the restart there is no Configure option in the Connections menu to click, and people waste a good ten minutes hunting for a menu item that is simply not there yet.

3. Add the Rithmic connection

In the Control Center, go to Connections > Configure. In the Available list, select the stock Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage entry and add it. This is the standard entry that ships with NinjaTrader; there is no Edmond-branded one to hunt for. Enter your ETF-XXXXXX user ID and password exactly as Edmond issued them, hyphen and case included.

4. Choose the System that matches your account stage

This is the step that decides whether any of it works. Use the System named in your welcome email. Edmond says evaluation accounts use the Rithmic simulation environment, which in NinjaTrader is normally the Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago) entry, with Europe and Tokyo versions if you trade from there. Edmond states that its PRO (funded) accounts are simulated too and publishes no different System for them, so do not switch a PRO account to Rithmic 01 unless Edmond names it for that account. NinjaTrader has no separate gateway field. Edmond’s own onboarding note that the System is often Rithmic Paper Trading lines up with the evaluation-stage entry, which is useful corroboration — but your welcome email wins if it names something else. Mismatching stage and System is the most common Rithmic mistake we see, and the failure looks exactly like “my firm is not supported”, which sends people off chasing the wrong problem entirely.

5. Connect and check

Give the connection a name you will recognise later — the firm and the stage, not just “Rithmic” — then finish and pick it from the Connections menu. Once connected, confirm two things: your Edmond account number appears in the Accounts tab, and a chart of a contract you are permitted to trade fills with live data. If the account is there but the data is not, that points back at step 1 rather than at anything you did here.

Questions we get

Why is Edmond Trader Funding not in the System list?

Because it was never going to be. Our catalogue has Edmond’s accounts on a shared Rithmic gateway rather than a dedicated, firm-branded one, so NinjaTrader’s System list shows the generic Rithmic entries and your ETF-XXXXXX credentials identify which firm and which account you are. Nothing is missing or broken.

I have seen this firm written as Edmund Trader Funding. Same company?

Same company, wrong spelling. It is Edmond Trader Funding — Edmond Trader LLC, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, at edmondtraderfunding.com. The “Edmund” spelling turns up in Rithmic’s own directory and has been copied around from there, and edmundtraderfunding.com does not exist at all. Search both spellings if you are hunting for setup notes, but type the Edmond one anywhere it matters.

Does Edmond Trader Funding provide a NinjaTrader license?

No. Its FAQ answers “Is a NinjaTrader license provided?” with “No”: Edmond does not provide a NinjaTrader, Quantower or similar license, and if you already pay for one of those platforms and it connects through Rithmic, you may use your personal subscription with your Edmond credentials. Its supported-platforms page adds that you are responsible for that license, its fees and its setup, so do not plan on NinjaTrader’s free license for trading this account. Edmond’s terms still govern the account.

My login fails, or the platform sits on “connecting”

Work through the obvious pairings first: stage against System, then user ID against what the member area shows, then agreements. A password carrying a trailing space from a copy-paste is startlingly common too. If none of that shifts it, our notes on Rithmic logon failures in NinjaTrader cover the less obvious causes in order of likelihood.

Can I keep an Edmond account and another Rithmic account connected at the same time?

NinjaTrader Desktop runs one Rithmic connection at a time, although one connection can carry several accounts under the same login. Our Unlimited Prop Firm Connections add-on lets you connect and manage multiple Rithmic accounts at the same time, from one window, with per-connection monitoring, and it tells you which System entry your firm uses, or adds that entry to NinjaTrader’s System list when it is missing — you still sign in with the credentials Edmond issued you. What you are allowed to do across several accounts is a matter for your firm’s own terms, so check with them first.

Affordable Indicators, Inc. is not affiliated with or endorsed by Rithmic, NinjaTrader, or any prop firm or broker named here; your firm’s and broker’s own terms govern how you may use your account, so check with them first.
