We have made some big improvements to our copier software that auto-syncs Rithmic positions that are not appearing correctly. In this video, we cover the latest features of our NinjaTrader trade copier related to managing the chaos that often results from Rithmic connections and accounts.
Understanding the Issue
-
Trades are being exited correctly.
-
NinjaTrader may still display them as open.
-
Using “Flatten All” in NinjaTrader when this happens can cause you to open new trades, as it attempts to close what appears to be an open position.
-
Rithmic has added a disclaimer covering this issue.

The Solution
-
Once a trade is exited in NinjaTrader, our software will automatically identify any accounts that are out of sync with RTrader. These accounts will then be auto-synced to reflect the correct flat position. You don’t need to take any action, everything is handled automatically.
How to check a position you are unsure about
When NinjaTrader shows a position you believe is closed, check it somewhere that reads Rithmic directly before you act: R | Trader, or your prop firm’s own dashboard. If they show the account flat, the NinjaTrader display is out of date and the position is not real.
- Do not use Flatten Everything to “clean up” a position you know is closed. NinjaTrader will send an order to close what it thinks is open, which opens a real position in the other direction.
- Let the copier resync. With our copier running, accounts that are out of sync with Rithmic are set back to the correct flat position after the trade exits.
- Still unsure? Contact your prop firm or Rithmic with the account number and the time of the trade; they can see the actual fills.

Why it happens: when several fills arrive at the same moment, NinjaTrader can briefly calculate a position that does not match what Rithmic recorded. Rithmic’s own disclaimer, shown above, describes exactly this. It is a display problem in NinjaTrader, not a trade you placed.
