How Do I Add or Update My NinjaTrader Machine ID?

Managing your NinjaTrader Machine IDs is an important step to ensure your software is properly licensed and functioning as expected. Here’s how you can easily add or update your NinjaTrader Machine ID through your account dashboard.

Step 1: Locate Your NinjaTrader Machine ID

To find your current NinjaTrader Machine ID:

• Open the NinjaTrader Control Center

• Click on the Help menu at the top

• Select About…
  Your NinjaTrader Machine ID will be displayed in the window that appears.

Note: Do not enter your NinjaTrader License ID—you need to enter your NinjaTrader Machine ID only.

Step 2: Manage Your NinjaTrader Machine IDs

Once you’re on the page, you can enter your new or updated NinjaTrader Machine ID(s). Be sure to click the ‘SAVE CHANGES’ button at the bottom of the page to instantly update the licensing database.

Tips for entering your NinjaTrader Machine ID

• Copy it exactly. A NinjaTrader Machine ID is 32 characters long, made of the numbers 0 to 9 and the letters A to F. If even one character is missing, the page will not save it, so check the end of the ID after you paste.
• Use the boxes in order. Start with NinjaTrader Machine ID 1, then 2, and so on. The number of boxes you see matches the number of computers your licences cover. A 1 PC licence uses the first box.
• Notes boxes are for your labels. Use the Notes box next to an ID to write which computer it belongs to, for example “Home PC” or “VPS”. Licensing only reads the NinjaTrader Machine ID boxes, so never paste an ID into a Notes box.
• Moving to a new computer. Replace the old computer’s ID with the new one in the same box, then save. The old computer stops being licensed and the new one takes its place.
• After saving, restart NinjaTrader on that computer so our software checks its licence again.
