FundYourEdge and NinjaTrader 8 (Rithmic): Support Status and Settings

FundYourEdge issues Rithmic credentials. The firm says so on its own platform page and repeats it in its help centre: the account is provisioned straight after checkout, and a credential card appears on your dashboard carrying a trader code and a password, with reveal and copy buttons beside them. A Rithmic login asks for four things: username, password, System and gateway. NinjaTrader Desktop’s Rithmic connection asks for three, because each of its System entries already includes the region: User name, Password and System.
Before any of that matters, read the firm’s own position. FundYourEdge publishes a help article stating that NinjaTrader — also written NT8 — is “no longer supported at FundYourEdge” (last updated 22 September 2026). The article says NinjaTrader is not part of the platform lineup and that its support team cannot help you install, connect, configure or troubleshoot it. The same article also says that opening it is not a rule violation, and that the firm will not close, suspend or flag an account over which charting software a trader happens to use.
That is not the whole picture, and we are not going to tidy it up for you. The firm’s prohibited-practices article, last updated the same day, lists trading through a platform the firm has not approved among the practices that can lead to a denied payout, a closed account, a forfeited balance or a ban. One article says charting software is not a rule matter; the other lists unapproved platforms as a breach. Both are current, both are FundYourEdge’s own words, and they cannot both be relied on. Ask FundYourEdge directly, in writing, what you are permitted to use on your account, and get an answer you can keep before you connect anything.
The rest of this page is mechanics, for readers who have done that. Nothing below changes the firm’s published position, and none of it is a recommendation about what to run on your account.
What FundYourEdge issues, and what it supports
- Rithmic credentials, issued by the firm. There is no broker portal to register with and no second set of logins to create. The firm says the same credentials work across the platforms it supports, and that you do not need — and should not request — new ones when you change platform.
- tradesea — the firm’s recommended partner platform, web-based, and the one its own instructions assume you will open first.
- MotiveWave, Quantower, ATAS (OrderFlow), Bookmap and Sierra Chart — the rest of the firm’s named platform lineup.
- R|Trader Pro — Rithmic’s own desktop application, named by the firm as an alternative place to sign your market-data agreements.
- NinjaTrader is not on that list. The firm has not published a date for the change, and says only that it has no timeline to share about supporting it again.
- No platform licenses are provided. FundYourEdge states twice that traders obtain their own licenses from the vendor, so a NinjaTrader lease or license is your cost, not theirs.
- Prime and Clear are risk-rule programs, not feed choices. Both run on Rithmic; there is no feed selection at signup.
What you need before you start
- Your dashboard credential card. Trader code and password, with the reveal and copy buttons the dashboard provides.
- Your CME market-data agreements already signed. Two agreements plus a professional/non-professional declaration. Non-professional is the free default; the firm asks you to contact support before declaring professional, because that adds monthly exchange fees.
- NinjaTrader Desktop installed and licensed in your own name.
- A look at your dashboard’s market-data add-ons. Entitlements can be a paid add-on. If you hold only the base set, symbols outside it may show no data in any platform, NinjaTrader included.
- Confirmation from the firm about what you may run, as above.
Connecting a FundYourEdge account in NinjaTrader
1. Sign the market-data agreements first, somewhere else
Until the agreements are signed, live prices do not arrive — charts and the order book look empty or frozen. The firm documents signing them in tradesea or in R|Trader Pro, using the same trader code and password. It is one-off and account-wide, so you never repeat it in a second platform. Do it before you point NinjaTrader at the account: a connection dialog is a poor place to discover an outstanding agreement. Agreement status also syncs on a delay, so a banner that lingers for a while after you sign is not a failure.
2. Turn on Multi-Provider mode
In the Control Center, go to Tools > Settings > General, tick Multi-Provider, then restart NinjaTrader. Skip the restart and Connections > Configure simply will not appear, which is the single most common reason people think their install is broken. If it is still missing, our guide on the missing Configure menu item walks through the rest.
3. Add the Rithmic connection
In the Control Center, open Connections > Configure and add the stock Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage entry from the Available list. There is no entry named after FundYourEdge, and there does not need to be — the stock Rithmic entry is what these credentials log into.
4. Enter the credentials exactly as the dashboard shows them
Username is your FundYourEdge trader code, not your email address and not your name. Password is the one on the same card. Copy and paste both rather than typing them — they are case-sensitive and a trailing space is enough to fail the login, which is why the dashboard gives you copy buttons.
Set System to Rithmic Paper Trading: that is the value the firm names in its own instructions, and it names no other at either stage, because FundYourEdge states that all trading on its platform takes place in a simulated environment using virtual funds. NinjaTrader has no separate Gateway field. The region is part of the System entry, so choose Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago), or the Europe or Tokyo version if one of those is nearer. Chicago is the example the firm gives for US traders.
We have not verified these settings against a live FundYourEdge account, so check every field against your own credential card before you save.
5. Connect, then check that data is actually flowing
Connect from the Control Center’s Connections menu and confirm the account appears under Accounts with a balance, then load a chart on a contract you hold data for. If the connection hangs rather than rejecting you, the firm’s documented fix is to pick a different gateway location and retry.
Questions we get
Does FundYourEdge support NinjaTrader?
No. The firm’s help centre says NinjaTrader is no longer supported and that its support team cannot help with installing, connecting, configuring or troubleshooting it. Separately, its prohibited-practices article lists trading through an unapproved platform among breaches that carry real consequences. Those two positions point in different directions, both were last updated on 22 September 2026, and only FundYourEdge can tell you which applies to your account. Ask them.
Which System value do I choose for a funded account?
The same one. FundYourEdge names Rithmic Paper Trading and publishes no separate live or funded system, and its rules state that both the evaluation and funded phases are simulated. If a connection is rejected, re-check the System before anything else — the firm’s own troubleshooting starts there too.
I passed the evaluation. Do my credentials change?
The firm has not published an answer, so do not assume either way. It does say your account, balance, progress and payout eligibility live with the account rather than in your charting software, and that you neither need nor should request new credentials when you change platform. After passing, open your dashboard credential card and compare it with what NinjaTrader currently holds.
My login is rejected and the message tells me nothing
Work through the three fields in order: trader code pasted rather than typed, password pasted from the dashboard, and System set to Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago) or the Paper Trading entry for your nearest region. Our Rithmic logon failed guide covers the wider set of causes.
Running a second Rithmic account alongside this one
Whether you may hold another firm’s account at the same time is a question for each firm’s own terms, so start there. On the platform side, NinjaTrader Desktop runs one Rithmic connection at a time, although one connection can carry several accounts under the same login. Our Unlimited Prop Firm Connections add-on lets you connect and manage multiple Rithmic accounts at the same time, from one window, with per-connection monitoring, and it tells you which System entry your firm uses, or adds that entry to NinjaTrader’s System list when it is missing. It is not what creates any of these connections.
