How to Connect Humble Futures Funding to NinjaTrader 8

Humble Futures Funding (humblefunding.co) issues one set of credentials that matters for this job: a Rithmic username and a Rithmic password. The password is the one you chose at checkout — the “Create New Rithmic User” modal asks for a first name, a last name and a password of at least eight characters with no spaces. The username is not what you typed. The firm sends the name through to Rithmic and an ID comes back in the form HFF-#####, and that ID is what logs in. Both values are printed in plain text on the “Rithmic Account Information” card at the top of your trader dashboard, and the firm warns that both are case-sensitive.
Those credentials log into Rithmic. Rithmic is the firm’s data feed — its partner lockup names EdgeClear as broker, Dorman Trading as FCM and Rithmic as the feed — and there is only one feed here. ONYX is not an alternative feed; it is a paid add-on layered on the same Rithmic account, and it refuses to launch until Rithmic credentials exist. In NinjaTrader Desktop, a Rithmic account is reached through the stock Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage connection type. One Rithmic login carries several trading accounts beneath it, which is why your account IDs look like HFF-#####-#### while your login is only the HFF-##### part.
The step people skip is the one the firm puts first: log in to R Trader Pro and accept the market-data agreements before you use any other platform. Humble’s own dashboard instructions are to download R Trader Pro, log in with the credentials on that card, select Non-Professional and system Rithmic Paper Trading, choose Chicago Area as the gateway, and agree to all CME agreements. If you are on macOS or Linux and cannot run R Trader Pro, the firm points you to signup.rithmic.com/apps.html to sign the agreements there instead. The firm’s instruction is to do that before using any of its supported platforms, so do not expect data in NinjaTrader until it is done.
One thing to settle before you spend money. Humble’s published “Supported Trading Platforms” answer in its FAQ does not include NinjaTrader. Its homepage, separately, carries a section headed “Trade Humble Futures Funding in NinjaTrader” selling a NinjaTrader addon at $30/month or $305 lifetime, and a ticker item reading “Trade NinjaTrader, ONYX, Rithmic & More”. The firm publishes no NinjaTrader setup steps of its own — its “Setup Guide” button links out to a third-party vendor, PropFirmConnector — and it does not state anywhere whether that addon is required. Those positions sit side by side on the same site, so confirm with Humble directly what you are permitted to use on your account before you trade on it.
What Humble Futures Funding issues and supports
- One feed, Rithmic, on every path. Every evaluation purchase creates a Rithmic user; there is no purchase route that skips it. No Tradovate, no ProjectX, nothing else.
- The firm’s own supported-platform list. ONYX (web-based, Mac accessible), Quantower, Rithmic Pro, Finamark Systems, Investor/RT, ATAS, MotiveWave, CTS T4, Jigsaw Daytradr, OptimusFLOW, CQG Desktop, Trade Navigator, VolFix, Sierra Chart, MultiCharts and EdgeProX. NinjaTrader does not appear on it.
- A NinjaTrader addon, sold separately. $30/month or $305 lifetime, with the firm’s own disclaimer: “NinjaTrader addon provided by PropFirmConnector. Billed by Humble Funding; support provided by PropFirmConnector.” You sign in to PropFirmConnector using the same email as your Humble account, and license provisioning can lag behind the purchase.
- Exchanges are not all-inclusive. Accounts come with CME by default; NYMEX, COMEX and CBOT are paid add-ons, and the firm’s two FAQ answers frame that pricing differently. Level 2 market depth is a separate one-time purchase, sold per exchange, and the dashboard tile carries no published price at all.
- Stages share the login. Passing does not issue new credentials — activation reuses your existing HFF-##### user and adds a trading account under it. Evaluation IDs are plain, Performance Account IDs contain “PA”, Instant Funding IDs contain “I”.
What you need before you start
- Your Rithmic username and password, copied exactly from the dashboard card — case included.
- NinjaTrader Desktop, installed and up to date.
- Rithmic market-data agreements already signed, via R Trader Pro or signup.rithmic.com/apps.html.
- Whichever exchange access and market-depth purchases you actually need; CME only, by default.
- If you have passed: the Performance Account activated inside the 14-day window, and the DocuSign PA Legal Agreement signed — the firm says no trading on the PA before that signature.
- Clarity from the firm on the NinjaTrader addon and on what you may run against your account.
These steps cover evaluation and sim-funded Performance Accounts, which are the accounts that sit on the gateway described below. Invitation-only Live Performance Accounts are a different posture — the firm classifies those traders as professional — so ask Humble directly rather than reusing anything here.
Connecting Humble Futures Funding to NinjaTrader
1. Sign the Rithmic agreements first
Open R Trader Pro, log in with your HFF-##### username and password, choose Non-Professional, system Rithmic Paper Trading and the Chicago Area gateway, and accept the CME agreements. Non-Windows traders sign at signup.rithmic.com/apps.html instead. That is what makes real-time data flow to anything you connect afterwards.
2. Turn on Multi-Provider and restart
In NinjaTrader, go to Tools > Settings > General and tick Multi-Provider, then close and reopen NinjaTrader. Without that tick and that restart, Connections > Configure does not appear at all — if the menu is missing, our walkthrough on the missing Configure item covers the same ground in more detail.
3. Add the Rithmic connection
In the Control Center, choose Connections > Configure, pick Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage from the Available list, and name it something you will recognise later — “Humble HFF-12345” beats “Rithmic” in a list of saved connections. Enter the username and password from the dashboard card.
4. Set the system and gateway
Set System to Rithmic Paper Trading (Chicago). NinjaTrader has no separate gateway field, and the Chicago region is part of that entry. That is the pairing Humble publishes for its own accounts, and it applies to evaluations and sim-funded Performance Accounts alike, because both are simulated. A mismatched system and gateway produces a login rejection whose wording tells you almost nothing useful, so get this pair right before you start suspecting your password.
5. Connect and confirm what you can see
Connect, then open the Accounts tab and check that your HFF-#####-#### account appears with the balance you expect. Open a chart and a DOM on a CME instrument to confirm data. If quotes arrive but the DOM is empty, that is a purchase question rather than a configuration one — see below.
Questions we get
My login is rejected
Work through the obvious suspects in order: the username is the HFF-##### ID from the dashboard, not your email, not the first and last name you typed at checkout, and not the longer account ID; both fields are case-sensitive; and the system and gateway must be the pair in step 4. One Humble-specific trap is worth knowing — the dashboard card reads your second Rithmic credential and falls back to the first, so if you somehow hold two, the card may be showing you one while other parts of the system use the other. Ask support to confirm which is live. Our general notes on Rithmic logon failures cover the platform-side causes.
I connect fine but there is nothing to trade
Check the Unassign Rithmic control on your Humble subscription page. An unassigned account still authenticates — it simply has nothing tradeable behind it, and the firm’s own wording is that you must reassign to trade.
No market depth
Level 2 depth is a separate one-time purchase from Humble, sold per exchange, and exchanges beyond CME are paid add-ons on top of that. A clean connection with no DOM usually means that purchase has not been made rather than that NinjaTrader is misconfigured.
Everything closed at the same time and I did not do it
The firm runs an auto-liquidation at its daily pause — 20:59 UTC for most futures, 18:04 UTC for livestock (HE, GF, LE) and 18:19 UTC for grains (ZC, ZW, ZS, ZM, ZL). That is firm-side risk management, so there is no point rebuilding your NinjaTrader setup over it.
Running more than one Rithmic account
NinjaTrader Desktop runs one Rithmic connection at a time, although one connection can carry several accounts under the same login. Our add-on, Unlimited Prop Firm Connections, lets you connect and manage multiple Rithmic accounts at the same time, from one window, with per-connection monitoring, and it tells you which System entry your firm uses, or adds that entry to NinjaTrader’s System list when it is missing. What you are allowed to run across accounts is set by each firm’s own terms, so check those with the firm.
