NinjaTrader: “No accounts were found”

This is a connection that succeeded and then delivered nothing. The credentials were accepted, the session opened, and the account list came back empty.

Because the login itself worked, the instinct to re-check the password is the wrong direction.

What it usually means

The account is not active at your firm. An evaluation that has ended, an account awaiting activation, a subscription that has lapsed, or a funded account not yet released will authenticate and return no tradeable accounts. This is the most common cause by a wide margin.

You are on the wrong route. Evaluation, sim funded and live funded accounts sit on different systems. A correct login pointed at the wrong one connects to a place where your account does not exist, so nothing comes back. Check the System entry against your account type in the connection guides.

A subscription needs activating. On Tradovate in particular, an account can exist without an active platform subscription attached, which produces the same empty list.

What to do

1. Log into your firm’s own dashboard and confirm the account is showing as active there.
2. Log into the provider platform directly, RTrader Pro for Rithmic, and see whether the account appears.
3. If it appears there but not in NinjaTrader, the System entry is wrong.
4. If it does not appear there either, it is an account status question for your firm, not a NinjaTrader problem.

The version that is not your account

There is a variant worth knowing. If the account list is empty on one firm while your other firms populate normally, that is the account. If every connection returns nothing, look at whether the market data agreements are outstanding in the provider portal, which can leave a session open but unfurnished.
