Tradecopia Alternative for NinjaTrader: Tradecopia vs. Duplicate Account Actions

Tradecopia is a subscription trade copier for futures traders. It connects to your broker accounts itself and mirrors a leader account’s trades to followers, and plenty of traders run it without complaint. The ones who go looking for an alternative usually have one of two reasons: the monthly bill never stops, or every account they copy is already open in NinjaTrader and they are paying a second program to reach accounts their platform can already see.
If the second reason sounds familiar, this page compares Tradecopia with Duplicate Account Actions, the NinjaTrader trade copier Affordable Indicators sells once instead of monthly. It also says plainly where Tradecopia is the better tool, because for some setups it is. Tradecopia details were checked on tradecopia.com and its help center on September 28, 2026.
The short answer
- Switch if every account you copy already connects to NinjaTrader Desktop on a Windows PC. Duplicate Account Actions is a one-time $195 (list $295) with free lifetime updates, instead of a monthly subscription.
- Add Unlimited Prop Firm Connections if you copy between two or more Rithmic prop firms. On its own, NinjaTrader allows one Rithmic login at a time.
- Stay with Tradecopia if you trade from a Mac, your funded accounts are on TopstepX, or you need copying to keep running while your computer is off.

How Much Is Tradecopia per Month?
Tradecopia lists three plans. Pro, the desktop app, is $49.99 a month. Pro+ Lite, a hosted plan that keeps copying with your computer off, is $79.99. Pro+, which adds a dedicated VPS, is $149.99. Billed yearly they come to $419.92, $719.91 and $1,439.90. The price is the same whether you copy 3 accounts or 30, which is a genuine strength if you run a lot of accounts. Pro and Pro+ Lite have a 7-day free trial on monthly and quarterly billing, and a payment method is required to start it.
Here is what that adds up to next to a one-time license. Tradecopia figures are its list prices rounded to the dollar, before any promotion; ours are today’s prices on each product page.
| What you pay | After 1 year | After 2 years | After 3 years |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tradecopia Pro (desktop), billed monthly | $600 | $1,200 | $1,800 |
| Tradecopia Pro (desktop), billed yearly | $420 | $840 | $1,260 |
| Tradecopia Pro+ Lite (hosted), billed yearly | $720 | $1,440 | $2,160 |
| Duplicate Account Actions (copier only) | $195 | $195 | $195 |
| Accounts Dashboard Suite (copier + risk manager) | $295 | $295 | $295 |
| Suite + Unlimited Prop Firm Connections (several Rithmic firms at once) | $790 | $790 | $790 |
The subscription is the cheaper way to try copying for a month, and the hosted plans pay for a machine that stays on so yours does not have to. The one-time license wins the longer you keep copying: Duplicate Account Actions costs about what four months of Tradecopia Pro does. Prices on both sides change with promotions, so check each product page before you buy.
A Standalone Copier vs. a Copier Inside NinjaTrader
Tradecopia runs outside NinjaTrader. Its desktop app or hosted plan logs into each broker through the broker’s API: NinjaTrader accounts through their Tradovate login (a NinjaTrader brokerage account is a Tradovate account underneath), Rithmic with your Rithmic username, password and system, and TopstepX through TopstepX’s API. Because it does not need NinjaTrader, it can mix brokers in one copy group and, on a hosted plan, keep copying with your computer off. The cost is a second set of connections to look after. Tradecopia’s own help center notes that the Tradovate and NinjaTrader login on the desktop app uses a token with an inactivity timeout of about 60 minutes, so you sign in to Tradovate again after the app has been closed or idle, and that on the desktop plan replication and risk rules run only while the app is open and connected.
Duplicate Account Actions takes the other route. It runs inside NinjaTrader Desktop and copies between the accounts NinjaTrader is already connected to, so there is no second set of broker logins to keep alive. It reads NinjaTrader’s own orders, positions and ATM strategies directly rather than reconstructing them from the broker’s side. The cost of that design is that NinjaTrader has to be running, on Windows, with every account connected, for the whole time you want trades copied.
One thing does not change between the two. When a follower is a Tradovate account, every copied order still goes through Tradovate’s API, whichever copier sends it, so the broker’s rate limits apply either way.
Tradovate, Rithmic, TradingView and TopstepX Support
Tradecopia covers Tradovate, NinjaTrader brokerage accounts, Rithmic, TopstepX and TradingView, and a leader on one broker can copy to followers on another. Two details are easy to miss: TopstepX requires TopstepX’s own API access subscription, $29 a month on top of the copier, and TradingView strategy alerts can place trades by webhook only on the hosted plans (copying trades you place by hand from TradingView charts works on every plan).
Duplicate Account Actions copies between any accounts NinjaTrader connects to: Tradovate and NinjaTrader brokerage accounts, Rithmic accounts from prop firms and brokers, and sim accounts. Trades you place in TradingView on a Tradovate account show up in NinjaTrader and get copied to your followers, which is how some Mac traders run it: TradingView on the Mac for charts, NinjaTrader on a Windows PC or VPS doing the copying. See the TradingView trade copier page for that setup.
The Rithmic limit, stated plainly. NinjaTrader allows one Rithmic connection at a time. If your accounts sit at two different Rithmic prop firms, a copier inside NinjaTrader cannot reach both on its own. Unlimited Prop Firm Connections removes that limit so several Rithmic firms stay connected in one NinjaTrader installation. Tradecopia logs into Rithmic itself, outside NinjaTrader, so NinjaTrader’s limit is not its concern.
Where Tradecopia is simply the right tool: you trade from a Mac and do not want a Windows machine anywhere in the chain, your funded accounts are on TopstepX, you want copying to run on a hosted plan with your computer off, or you do not use NinjaTrader at all. A copier that lives inside NinjaTrader is the wrong tool for those setups.
How Each Copier Copies Trades
Duplicate Account Actions has two copy modes. Executions mode watches fills on the master account and sends market orders to followers, which keeps follower orders simple. Orders mode places and updates every order to match the master, stops and targets included, and gives each follower its own ATM Strategy, so one account can run a wider stop or an extra target. The Executions vs. Orders mode guide covers which to use when.
Per follower you can scale size up or down by any multiplier, choose micro or mini contracts, fade the master by taking the opposite side, and copy every instrument or just one. Rejected follower orders are resubmitted as market or limit orders so a follower is not left out of a trade.
Tradecopia copies an entry with one take profit and one stop loss per entry, and it copies moves you make to those levels, including trailing your stop by hand. Its documentation lists multiple take profits on one entry, stop-limit orders and automatic trailing stops as unsupported, and advanced ATM strategies as still in active development. If you scale out with two or three targets, that difference matters. If you trade a single target and stop, it may not.
Risk Rules for Prop Firm Accounts
Tradecopia builds risk rules into its plans: a daily loss limit, a daily profit limit and a trades limit per account, plus weekly limits on Tradovate connections. An automatic trailing drawdown rule is on its roadmap but not active yet, so its guides pair the daily limits with a Distance to Drawdown display for firms that trail.
Affordable Indicators keeps risk in a companion product, the Account Risk Manager. It enforces a daily goal and a daily loss per account, tracks trailing drawdown and each firm’s auto-liquidate level, adds exit-order protections, and has a one-click One Trade button for firms that require a trade every day. The copier and the risk manager come together in the Accounts Dashboard Suite for $295. One honest limit applies to any add-on of this kind: it cannot lock NinjaTrader itself, so a trader who removes it can still place trades. For how prop firms treat copying in the first place, see our guide to prop firm trade copier rules.
Tradecopia vs. TradeSyncer
These are the two subscription copiers traders compare most often, and both copy from outside NinjaTrader. Tradecopia offers a desktop app for Windows and Mac as well as hosted plans, and charges the same for 3 accounts or 30. TradeSyncer is cloud-only and, when we compared it in August 2026, priced its plans from $49 to $149 a month by the number of broker connections. We compared TradeSyncer with our copier in detail in TradeSyncer vs. Affordable Indicators, and Replikanto, the other NinjaTrader-native option, in Replikanto: price, review and alternative.
Is Tradecopia Worth It?
For the right trader, yes. It is well reviewed (4.8 on Trustpilot from 342 reviews when we checked), it has a native Mac app, its hosted plans keep copying with your computer off, it supports TopstepX, and its flat price suits traders running dozens of accounts. If any of those describe you, it does things a NinjaTrader add-on cannot.
It is harder to justify if you already trade in NinjaTrader on Windows and every account connects there. In that setup you are paying every month for connectivity your platform already provides, and a copier built into NinjaTrader gives you things Tradecopia does not, such as a different ATM Strategy on each follower and more than one target per entry. A one-time license also means the tool keeps working through the months you pause trading.
Switching From Tradecopia to a NinjaTrader Copier
- Connect every account you copy to NinjaTrader Desktop. If they span two or more Rithmic prop firms, set up Unlimited Prop Firm Connections first.
- Install Duplicate Account Actions, pick your master account and tick the followers.
- Set the size, contract type and ATM Strategy for each follower, and choose Executions or Orders mode.
- Test with one micro contract on sim accounts before you copy live.
- Turn Tradecopia off for those follower accounts before you turn the new copier on. Two copiers sending orders to the same followers will both copy each trade and double your size.
- Run a full session, then cancel the subscription.
Running two copiers side by side is fine when each one has its own followers; our note on using multiple trade copiers at once covers the safe way to do it. Human live chat support is included with every license if you get stuck.
FAQ
How much is Tradecopia per month?
Tradecopia Pro, the desktop app, is $49.99 a month. Pro+ Lite, a hosted plan that copies with your computer off, is $79.99, and Pro+ with a dedicated VPS is $149.99. Billed yearly they are $419.92, $719.91 and $1,439.90. These are Tradecopia’s list prices as of September 2026.
Does Tradecopia work with NinjaTrader?
Yes, but not as a NinjaTrader add-on. Tradecopia connects to NinjaTrader brokerage accounts through their Tradovate login, since those accounts run on Tradovate. It does not run inside NinjaTrader Desktop, and its documentation lists advanced ATM strategies as still in development.
Does Duplicate Account Actions work on a Mac?
Not directly. It runs inside NinjaTrader Desktop, which is Windows-only. Mac traders run NinjaTrader on a Windows PC, a VPS or a virtual machine, and can keep placing trades from TradingView on the Mac if the master is a Tradovate account.
Can I run Tradecopia and Duplicate Account Actions at the same time?
Yes, as long as they never share a follower account. If both copiers send orders to the same follower, each trade is copied twice.
Is there a Tradecopia discount code?
Tradecopia’s own pricing page advertises a first-month discount for new customers, so check there for the current offer. We do not have a code for it. Over a year, a discount on one month changes little; the bigger saving is not paying monthly at all.
Can I copy trades between two Rithmic prop firms in NinjaTrader?
Yes, with Unlimited Prop Firm Connections. NinjaTrader normally allows one Rithmic connection at a time; the add-on keeps several Rithmic firms connected in one NinjaTrader installation, and Duplicate Account Actions copies between all of them.
