About Trend & Classic Indicators
Trend and classic indicators are the studies most traders learn first: moving averages, RSI, MACD, CCI, ADX, Stochastics, ATR, Ichimoku and VWAP. NinjaTrader 8 includes basic versions of several of them. Ours add multi time frame calculation, signal options, custom plots and alerts, so you can read a higher time frame trend on a lower time frame chart and be told when a condition is met instead of watching for it.
VWAP Studio plots session, weekly, monthly and anchored VWAPs with standard deviation bands and alerts, free; its Pro upgrade adds VWAP pullback signals with stops and targets. The Best MAs Trend Indicator defines the trend and marks pullback entries. Ichimoku Cloud Signals adds signal display options to a complete Ichimoku Cloud.
Common questions
What does multi time frame mean here?
The indicator can calculate on a different bar period than the chart it sits on, for example a 60 minute RSI plotted on a 5 minute chart, so you can see the bigger trend without opening a second chart.
Do these replace the built-in NinjaTrader indicators?
They sit alongside them. Use ours where you want alerts, signals or multi time frame plots; the built-in versions keep working as before.
Can I get alerts?
Yes. Each of the Best indicators includes alerts, so you can be notified when a signal or condition you set occurs instead of watching the chart for it.
Which one should I start with?
VWAP Studio is a free place to start. For trend direction and pullbacks, the Best MAs Trend Indicator is the natural first choice; add an oscillator such as RSI or Stochastics if you time entries with momentum.
Do they work on any chart type?
They calculate on the bars of the chart they are applied to, so they work on time, tick, volume, range and Renko charts alike.
How do I install it?
Like any NinjaTrader add-on: download it from NinjaScript Downloads in the Members Area, then in NinjaTrader choose Tools, Import, NinjaScript Add-On and select the file you downloaded.
